The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot exists to provide eligible temporary foreign workers in the sector with a pathway to Canadian permanent residence. Up to 2,750 applications are accepted each year.

The Agri-Food Pilot was launched in 2020 and is set to expire in May 2025. The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot aims to help fill labour shortages in agricultural industries. A maximum of 2,750 principal applicants and their families would be accepted per year.

The Agri-Food pilot offers a pathway to permanent residence for agricultural workers in Canada. In recent years, Canadian agriculture and agri-food industries have struggled to fill labour shortages and workers have had to rely on short-term, seasonal work permits in order to find employment. The pilot aims to attract and retain workers by offering a pathway to permanent residence in Canada, allowing workers and their families to work and live in Canada for as long as they like.

Agricultural employers participating in the pilot will be eligible for a 2-year Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

项目要求 Program Requirements

为满足加拿大联邦农业试点项目，申请人需满足：

  • 年龄建议，55岁以下
  • 申请人在过去三年中有一年，在临时外籍劳工项目下至少1560小时非季节性加拿大全职工作经验。职业类别符合农业食品试点项目相关行业要求，雇主要能够提供劳动力市场影响评估，期间可更换雇主
  • 持有魁北克以外地区长期全职雇主工作邀请 JOB OFFER，薪资需等同或高于当地同行业水平
  • 英语要求CLB4（思培四项4，或雅思G类读写听说3.5/4/4/4）
  • 高中毕业及以上学历，加拿大以外学历需要ECA认证
  • 具备足够的安家资金

To be eligible to participate in the pilot, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Canadian equivalency of high-school level or greater
  • Work experience: 12 months of full-time, non-seasonal Canadian work experience in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program in an eligible occupation in processing meat products, raising livestock, or growing mushrooms or greenhouse crops
  • Language: A Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French
  • Job offer: an indeterminate job offer for full-time, non-seasonal work in Canada, outside of Quebec, at or above the prevailing wage

To apply to the Agri-Food Pilot, you need to show eligible work experience in an eligible industry and eligible occupation, and have a job offer for full-time, non-seasonal work in an eligible industry and occupation in Canada (outside of Quebec)

  • NOC 63201 – Butchers – retail and wholesale
  • NOC 65202 – Meat cutters and fishmongers – retail and wholesale
  • NOC 94141 – Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers
  • NOC 82030 – Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors
  • NOC 84120 – Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
  • NOC 85100 – Livestock labourers
  • NOC 95106 – Labourers in food and beverage processing

  • NOC 82030 – Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors
  • NOC 84120 – Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
  • NOC 85100 – Livestock labourers
  • NOC 85101 – Harvesting labourers

年配额 Annual application limits

加拿大政府每年最多处理2,750份农业试点项目申请。从2023年起，政府不再对农业类职业种类配额加以限制。每年1月1日起，移民局采用先到先得的方式处理申请。如果因已达到年度配额而拒绝申请，政府将退还申请费。

The Canada government will process a maximum limit of 2,750 applications each year. From 2023, the government no longer use annual limits for individual occupations. Starting on January 1 of each year, the immigration authority will process applications on a first-come, first-served basis. If the government reject a application because the annual limit has been reached, the application fee will be refunded.
